There was this one from a few years back, I can't remember the name of the author, but it was called 'For Want of Makeup' and was about John Kennedy winning the 1960 election against RMN after Nixon refuses make up during a televised debate. It started out good, and looked at the Bay of Pigs in a way that was kinda realistic, but right as it was getting going, the author just shot Kennedy! Right out the blue in Dallas, and then went on to have Johnson be President. I tell you, I just couldn't read it after that, it was so insulting to just kill him like that.
