The world that Eleanor Roosevelt made...

The Democrats became a much more religionist party, holding sway mainly in New England.

Democrats are "religionist", and yet hold sway in one of the least religious areas of the country? Of course, I don't know what they were like earlier in the century, and this is alt hist....

I meant regionalist. Thrice dammed spell checker! And I'm sorry about how this jumps around. Ideas develop that are related to this time line and I write them down. At the moment, we're focused on the sixties.

Neither am I, but I am sure that the yarn will be interesting. So yeah, the Democrats become a predominantly New England based party for the forseeable future after Kennedy's and Johnson's falling out.

I need a good reason for LBJ and JFK to spilt, and I need a good reason for the Republicans to do the same.

My advice in future would be to think all this stuff through before releasing the timeline. This will also allow you to post larger, more substantial entries, which mean you'll get more, and better, comments.

Well IRC the relations between LBJ and the Kennedys were not really splendid (there are various version and depend by the teller), maybe it's the civil right what cause the split between the two and more in general between moderate and 'extremist' (i know the term is not good or appropriate but I can't think now of another)
