The World of Crosstime Traffic

Inspired by this: https://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=337904

While the "Home Timeline" of Crosstime Traffic is obviously our world in the 2090s, large-scale changes appear to have occurred in several areas that one can do a FH setting. Among other things off the top of my head

-There was a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the 2020s or '30s that made several areas in both countries uninhabitable due to use of biological weapons
-There were two "interventions" by the US and NATO in Iran with the ultimate result that the Shah was restored to the throne
-Large-scale resource crisis up to the 2040s when interdimensional travel was invented
-Korea seems to have reunited
-A restaurant called "Tapas Tuesday" has become popular at least in Southern California
-The United States has gone metric

Any further speculations? Thoughts?

My thread inspired this? I'm flattered. :D:p

I've never read the Crosstime Traffic books myself, but I do know quite a bit about them from the Turtledove wiki.

Here are some other things according to the Turtledove wiki.

-Damascus is destroyed in 2033 by a nuclear terrorist attack. Syrian rebels, Israel, Turkey and the US all suspects, implying Syrian Civil War is either still going on or had just ended but instability remains.
-Palestine still troubled region. Whether conflict with Israel resolved or some other conflict not made clear.
-European Union is single state by 21st Century, made up of many constituent nations.

That's actually pretty prophetic since Turtledove wrote these books before the Syrian Civil War broke out.
