I see more love for the ERE on here than I do the WRE (perhaps because I'm not looking hard enough) but as I'm a Latinophile when it comes to Rome I prefer to start in the West. So; I'm working on a project on about a historically realistic surviving Roman Empire in the West and was wondering if anyone could assist me in the general project thereabouts in assuring the West well, lives.
Because I have a penchant for the love of painful things (i.e. I like a challenge), I started my project as the WRE surviving post-410's sack, which historically it sort of did finally dying in 480 or so with the death of Julius Nepos?
My (first) question is quite simple. Barring Romulus returning from Elysium with Mars behind him, is it possible for the Western Roman Empire to survive post the 410 Sack of Rome?
