You got QGIS? Then you’ve got equirectangular maps. I’ve been getting my info off of Open Street Maps myself, and then georeferencing it. That way when we move onto other projections, it’s a simple matter of switching projections since I have the tiff files on hand.

Depends on the latitude. At the equator, it’s about 925m x 925m, but at 45 degrees, it’s 925m x 657m.
