The USA-Comanche War

What if The Comache led a guerilla war in America?

The POD would probably be during the Epidemic of 1816-17. Although a larger population does not necessarily mean a better military, for these purposes, it is a military advantage.

January 8, 1875

The President, Ulysses S Grant, had sent Paul Sheridan to New Orleans to negotiate the revolts and coups occurring in Louisiana. He lay back in his chair, as a box was handed to him. The man said it was from Sheridan, reporting on how horribly the conference went, with some New Orleans trinkets he thought the president might enjoy.

Ulysses opens the box, which explodes with a bright flash.

When Benjamin H. Bristow arrived moments later, Ulysses S. Grant was dead. His lower jaw and nose were missing and his face was charred. His right hand had vanished aswell. The President died instantly. The Windows of the Oval Office were cracked.

Further investigations revealed this was the work of Quanah Parker, the cheif of the Comanche.

Guerilla Warriors rarely get caught though...
Viet Kong for example, or Afghanistan.

Harry Turtledove wrote in 'The Man with the Iron Heart',

Guerilla campaigns cause enormous loss of life on both sides, something the Comanche can't afford since there's a hundred times less of them than there are americans.

I didn't necesarily mean that the campaign lasts long.

Rosa Parks' revolutionary actions lasted minutes (although it was preceeded by years of racial discrimination), and helped spark a revolution in the Colored community.

This may be a bit optomistic, but the Cheyenne or Kiowa might also help in the endeavour.
This was a time of conflict and civil unrest, and like the truck bomb at the US Embassy Building in the 90's, some well placed strikes will weaken the morale of the army and the nation (maybe foreign aid could assist the Amerindians).

Rosa Parks was a catalyst for a revolution involving about 20% of the american population and no war. It's also the 19th century: if Justice and Racism are pitted against each other, Justice is not what will prevail in the minds of the ruling class.
