Hungarian Troubles
March 1478,
Louis XI of France is pissed after the flight of Anne of France to Saxony and the Burgundian refuge stop they made along the way. He could not punish the Burgundians as they were far too powerful and he has just inherited Valois-Anjou. He then declares a full investigation into the incident and summons Duchess Jeanne to Paris to begin the investigation.

April 1478,
Vladislaus finally makes peace with Matthias Corvinus and Matthias leads his armies into Austria invading it and forcing Frederick to call on his son and his Burgundian daughter in law to assist him. Maximilian and Marie begin to quickly depart much to Emma's disappointment.

May 1478,
After her testimony, Louis begins to travel to Lyon where Jeanne's court is to gather more evidence to seize her Bourbon lands. Jeanne prepares to flee to Burgundy as she knows her court will not last against the spider King.

Of Births and Marriages
Nantes, January 1477: Duke Francis of Brittany and his wife, Margaret of Foix, have their first child: a daughter, Anne. She is rather healthy, but her younger sister, Isabelle (born in 1478), was rather sickly.

Windsor, March 1477: Queen Elizabeth Woodville delivered her and her husband’s third son: George, Duke of Bedford.

Seville, June 1478: Isabella and Ferdinand the Catholic welcome a second son: the Infante Ferdinand. He joins his sister Infanta Isabella, and his brother, Juan (the Prince of Asturias). With the succession secured with two sons, the monarchs of Castile and Aragon engage their daughter to the heir to Portugal, Prince Alfonso, who was born in 1475. Later that same year, Queen Leonor of Portugal gave birth to a daughter, the Infanta Leonor.

Innsbruck, July 1478: Fortunately, Archduke Maximilian and his pregnant bride, Marie of Burgundy, arrived safely in Innsbruck two months before the birth of their first child. There was some disappointment that the pregnancy had resulted in a daughter, but Maximilian and Marie were young and optimistic for sons. They both treasured their daughter, the Archduchess Eleanor (named for Maximilian’s deceased mother), and the child was noted to be beautiful and precocious.

York, October 1478: Richard, Duke of Gloucester remarried to, of all people, a Woodville. While Richard had previously shown some hostility to Queen Elizabeth and her family, he had fallen in love with Lady Joan Woodville, the widow of the son of the Earl of Kent. She is a caring stepmother to both Richard’s twin daughters, Cecily and Elizabeth, and even to little Edward, who is rather deformed, sickly, and not expected to survive to adulthood.

Marie and Max should have a son next. I want a Burgundian husband for Juana.

An Austrian Heir
Pamplona, 3 March 1479: Delegates from Aragon arrive at the Navarrese court, proposing a match between Prince Juan of Asturias and Girona, and Princess Catherine of Navarre, the younger sister to the new King Francis Phoebus. Madeleine, Dowager Princess of Viana and regent of Navarre, is firmly against the match. She is opposed by several Navarrese magnates, such as Louis of Beaumont and Madeleine's own brother-in-law, Pierre de Foix.

Dover, 12 May 1479: The English delegation returns from the French court, where they had finalized the betrothal between Princess Elizabeth of York, eldest daughter of King Edward IV, and Dauphin Charles. Queen Elizabeth Woodville is pleased that another one of her daughters shall become a queen.

Dresden, 6 September 1479: Anne of France gives birth to her third child, and her husband's first: a large and robust baby boy. With the Archduke Maximilian standing as his godfather, the new Saxon heir is accordingly christened in his honor, yet another way in which Anne spites her father, King Louis of France. Anne's daughters, Charlotte and Jeanne d'Anjou, spend much of their time around their new baby brother's cradle, singing him songs and waving toys at him.

Toledo, 6 November 1479: Queen Isabel of Castille gives birth to her fourth child, a healthy daughter who is named Juana, in honor of her paternal grandmother, Queen Juana Enriquez.

Wiener Neustadt, 29 November 1479: Marie of Burgundy gives birth to her second child. Much to the rejoicing of the Austrian court, it is a boy. Archduke Maximilian thanks his wife profusely for bearing him a son, gifting her with lavish jewels and horses, and christens the boy Rudolf, after Rudolf the Founder

The Bourbon Lands
January 1479
Louis XI seizes the Bourbon lands as punishment for assisting in the flight of his daughter. The King is devastated at the loss of a daughter he considered to be "the least foolish woman in France." That said he is smart enough to realize the benefits of having an excuse to gain the territories. Between these and the Anjou lands, which Louis seized following Anne and her daughters's flight the crown has actually come out quite well from the whole affair. The young Duke of Bourbon is only permitted to retain the county of Clermont.

Joan Woodville announces a pregnancy.

March 1479
Marie of Orleans gives birth to her second child, a daughter named Valentina, after her Visconti ancestor. Ludovico is happy to have another living child.
