I've been wondering of late, if Henry Fitzroy, Duke of Richmond and Somerset had left a posthumous son (which founds a bastard cadet branch of the Tudors), would this affect the succession following either the death of Edward VI/Elizabeth? (Assume for all intents and purposes a conservative butterfly effect).
The reason I ask is that Henry VIII did a lot of fiddling around in the succession - first Mary was a bastard, with Elizabeth as heiress. Then Mary and Elizabeth were bastards while Edward VI was heir. And finally, Mary and Elizabeth were bastards, but could succeed if Edward had no heirs. So if the succession runs, Edward, Mary, Elizabeth, does little Fitzroy come in before Mary? Or after Elizabeth? And besides the Howards (his maternal family), would anyone support his candidacy for the throne? Elizabeth passed over the Seymours (who were theoretically legitimate, and the next heirs by Henry VIII's act which named the Brandons as being ahead of the house of Stewart) in favor of the Stewarts. Would she/Edward/Mary do the same with little Lord Fitzroy TTL?
