The trial of sam Adams:american independence short TL 1

based during the american war of independence and its prelude and aftermath, i have taken it upon myself to write a series of short, story based TL's based on verious PODS in the american war of independence.

To kick it off, I've started with an event that takes place 2 years before the Boston tea party, in the aftermath of the Boston massacare, where a series of foolish decisions and impulsivness by some of americas first patriots will threaten too strangle the revolution when its stillborn and will see a well known patriot in the dock- with no less then colonist liberty at stake.

This era isnt my real strong point, and i live in britain. So a map of Boston during this era and infomation on where sam and John Adams lived in the location of some key landmarks in corralation to the rest of the ciry would be much appreciated.

Oh and finally, to give you a say in this POD, i'll give you the oppotunity to tell me who should be the man to lead the prosocution against Adam's and who the judge should be. give me some links with them so i can check if they would fit in my Tl!

but enough of this, lets get on with it. So then ladies and gentlmen, lets start the show.So sit back, relax and watch, cry and enjoy...........

Act 1

Extract from a pro independence pamphlet, dated around the time of samual Adams trial

A true and factual account
of the UNJUST and
CATASTROPHIC travesty of
JUSTICE and LIBERTY
of the trial of PATRIOT
SAMUAL ADAMS
and obsevations on the repression
of liberties on the free and good people of these
13 colonies

The good citizens of the town of Boston affords a recent and melancholy demonstration of the destructive
consequences of quartering troops among citizens in a time of peace, under a pretence of
supporting the laws and aiding civil authority: every considerate and unprejudiced person among
us was deeply impressed with the apprehension of these consequences when it was known that a
number of regiments were ordered to this town under such a pretext, but in reality to enforce
oppressive measures; to awe and control the legislative as well as executive power of the
province, and to quell a spirit of liberty, which however it may have been basely opposed and
even ridiculed by some, would do honour to any age or country. A few persons amongst us had
determined to use all their influence to procure so destructive a measure with a view to their
securely enjoying the profits of an American revenue, and unhappily both for Britain and this country they found means to effect it upon the rest of these colonies with unjust apprehntion of the said samual adams,
a known and respected protector of liberal rights of the honest and free people of this city.

On the evening of wednesday last, the 5th of this current, a number of solders were seen apprehending the said defendent on
unjust the charge of inciting " civil unrest against the legitimate authorities
of this city,"
the breaking of the kings peace,
the spreading of sedition and libel against his majesty and treason, a offence which, should he be found
responsible for, carries uopon it a sentence of death.

He ( Sam Adams) refutes all the charges cited above as a great and devoius
conspiracy by the higher authorities ( mainly govoner hutchinson)
to deflate and discredit the good leaders of our cause
to quell our great and just spirit for liberty and
suspension of our rights as to impose a foul and oppresive tyranny upon
the honest people of this city as a stepping stone into
taking further unjust tariffs and taxations upon us and
strangle our prosperous trade with the mother country.

Our readers will doubtless expect a circumstantial account of the tragical affair on Monday
last and the resulting trial; but we hope they will excuse our being so particular as we should have been, had we not
seen that the town was intending an enquiry and full representation thereof.
At eleven o'clock the inhabitants met at Faneuil Hall; and after some animated speeches
becoming the occasion, they chose a committee of fifteen respectable gentlemen to wait upon the
lieutenant-governor in Council to request of him to issue his orders for the immediate removal of
the said gentlmen from his majesties custody and the immediat succesion of all current denial of the comman mans liberty following
the catastrophic roits of the week preceding.

the trial is expected to proceed into the weeks following, with a verdict not expected untill after the last rebellious elements have been quashed and
his majsties peace resored to the adjecent areas.
However, we the authers expect the proud and honest citizens of this
town not to except this blatent attack upon our personal freedoms which the maker himself entusted upon us and to demand the immediate release of the said sam adams to the soonest effect.

As both a piece of fiction and the time line based on a video game, this belongs in the in either the "Books & Media" or "Fiction" fora.

Also, as it's fiction, run your text through a spell and grammar check. I t can only help.

Actually its just to mark the release-not based in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM ON ASSASINS CREED. and its a a FACTUAL TL just written using a story-based narrative instead of boring walls of text

also bear in mind that this pamphlet is based on historical pamphlets. Spelling in thoes days varied quite differently from today. By rights-solders should be spelled folders due to the way printing press worked ( f looked differently)

thankfully i decided to get rid of that bit.
