The Treaty of Methuen

The Treaty of Methuen (1703) established a commercial and military alliance between Portugal and Britain, where King Peter II of Portugal's sister, Catherine of Braganza had been the queen consort of Charles II.
Suppose Peter II's sister Catherine had not been married to King Charles II of England.
Would this have made a difference for the Treaty of Methuen?

I think it was more about common antipathy toward the Bourbons rather than common affection for Queen Anne's aunt.
