Is my first TL so don't be surprised if i get something wrong, is more like a test
The point of divergence here is that Stephen Uroš V of Serbia isn't inconpetent as he was in real life.
Chapter 1:
The death of Dušan was premature and unexpected. While planning a attack on the Turks.
Uroš, who was well known as a aggressive and somewhat unstable person, was very sure that the Turks sent a spy to poison his father and swore to take revenge. But he knew that some regional rulers didn't accept Uroš as the supreme tsar, and were slowly accumulating prestige. He got rid of the weaker lords before they got too powerful, but the stronger ones were a problem. If he simply removed them, they could trigger a chain reaction that would cause a collapse of the state.
Uroš was, hovewer shocked when he heard that his mother Helena also started doing the autonomist policy of other rulers, with support of Jovan Uglješa. Fearing that there could be a even stronger alliance between regional rulers, Uroš made a hastily planned attack on Jovan. Like it was expected, Helena honored her alliance with Jovan and attacked too. The other lords overestimated the power of Uroš and decided not to attack.
Uroš, hovewer forgot about a very powerful enemy. Simeon Uroš Palaiologos was the ruler of Thessaly and Epirus and gathered a powerful army to attempt to seize the throne.
The army of Uroš barely managed to defeat Simeon, and after retreating back to Thessaly, he was killed by a mob of villagers loyal to Uroš. The attack on Helena and Jovan had to be delayed because of Simeons attack...
