I have come up with a russian tl dealing with imperial Russia surviving I hope you give it a chance for I put in much research to create this. This was the man know as Stolypin, He was a brilliant prime minister.
Arguably the best Russia had in the Duma, and he almost overthrew Rasputin, however he was assassinated. But he was the Tsar's closest confidante during this time period, and his land reforms were extremely successful, in fact Lenin himself said in 1911 that if Stolypin continued his policies the Marxists would fail in Russia, in fact the daughters of Karl Marx committed suicide because they realized communism would not prevail should Stolypin exist. SO in this TL Rasputin dies Stolypin remains prime minister because the assassination attempt on his life fails, and he lives. With him in charge and the passing of his reforms the stardom survives.
1911
September 1911: Stolypin was planning on going to Kiev despite political warnings of the extreme danger involved. At first Stolypin wanted to go but after being convinced by Witte, he decided Kiev was too dangerous for him to travel too. Another problem he faced was that he was losing the favour of the tsar and he knew his time as prime minister of the duma were numbered.
In the spring of 1911 Stolypin planned to resign however nowstory was rethinking his options Stolypin realized that trouble was brewing and that Russia was a very unstable land. He realized that without him Russia would fall into chaos. Another problem was that scum Rasputin. Rasputin was hated by Stolypin who had this man banished to Siberia. Pyotr also knew there was hostility between him and the Empress herself despised him for his banishment of Rapsutin, and he knew things were spiraling out of control. But how to kill Rasputin he did not know. SO he turned to one person who hated Rasputin as much as him. Prince Felix Felixovich Yusupov, Count Sumarokov-Elston, was the richest man in russia, owning over 38 estates across Russia, he had a vast tract of land in caucasius that was pouring out vast amounts of crude oil making him one of the richest men in Russia, he had despised Rasputin, another conspirator against Rasputin was Sergei Michailovich Trufanov He was a priest who had initially backed Rasputin being a close advocate but after Rasputin raped a nun he was outraged, but got exiled by the Tsarina. The Three met at Stolypin’s room, where they discussed how to kill this hated enemy of Russia. Felix promised that he would use his resources to find out where Rasputin is and then have him murdered. The three agreed that as long as Rasputin lived Russia was in trouble. The thre also decided to form a long lasting alliance with Prince Felix promising to support Stolypin. After declining the invitation Tsar Nicolas was displeased with Pyotrbut realized the danger he faced in Kiev so he didn’t push Pyotr further. At Kiev on the streets was a strange sage like man. He was none other than Grigori Rasputin who happened to have seen the carriage of the tsar, and as he rose to greet the tsarina a terrible event occurred. A Marxist terrorist known as Ulyanovich threw a bomb at the Tsar's carriage, however it missed but exploded at the area where Rasputin stood. The blast shocked Rasputin as he lost his life. The greatest threat to Russia lay dead at Kiev. The encounter was a shock to Tsar Nicolas. He and his family nearly lost their lives and to make matters worse his son Alexay’s savior Rasputin had died. When Stolypin heard the news he immediately informed Felix and Sergei who were overjoyed. Afterword’s Stolypin was pleased, he had won the backing of a very powerful man who was also the richest in Russia. Thus his prime minister seat was safe. In October Stolypin once again preceded at the meetings of the third duma. The third duma was conservative yet proved to be a useful asset to Russia. It was also created by Stolypin who was now advisor to the Tsar. Now that he was in office he decided to pass the Zemstvo once more. This time with the backing of Prince Felix he managed to get enough votes in the duma to pass the resoulution. At first Felix was unsure of supporting it but he decided anyway because he was given more power over the Russian railroad system and was given concessions in taxes by Stolypin. At fist the Tsar was concerned but after prompting by Prince Felix the Tsar agreed after being told it would stop revolts an prevent the bomb blasts from occurring. The tsarina was an interesting character, she despised Stolypin and fretted over Alexay the boy was sick with Hemophelia and suddenly on October 20 1911 the young boy faced a major Hemophelia attack that left him lifeless. For hours the whole royal family stood by Alexay's side as the physicians tried everything, but at 11:50 p.m the young boy died. The blow was shocking to the imperial family. Nicolas was flabbergasted, his only son lay dead. The Tsarina was overcome by shock and soon became incapable of Movement as she became a shell of her former self. On October 21st a great funeral was held mourning the passing of the young boy. Nearly all of Europe's royal family offered condolences. Trufanov was soon put back in charge of his original position while Felix and Stolypin continued to establish ties with each other and helping each other gain more and more power. With the royal family in chaos for the moment, Stolypin had everything under his control. He then proceeded to console the tzar and the family soon becoming the tsars favourite helper. In this troubled time the Tzar increasingly let Stolypin do what he wanted because by consoling the family and sending gifts he won the Tzar and the Tzarina’s support. They were terribly shaken and weeping and so Stolypin was temporarily in charge of passing his laws. He then sidestepped the duma and passed his reforms aimed at improving Russian economy, building railroads and modernizing the military, as well as building factories and creating jobs for Russia’s Peasants. By late October the marxists were barely in any form of Power. Their ideas were now useless given the slight improvement in Russian life. Lenin saw his grand design was slipping from his grasp.
I have done a huge amount of research onto Russian History for those that do not know some of these terms here is a wiki on them
