OK Bit of a long stretch this one...
Richard III (yup he of the alledged hunchback, he who is the child killer) stays King, his son and wife never died when they did and as a result Richard is shall we say less suicidal in some of his decisions? So as a result he beats that Tudor upstart who's name we shall not mention here...
In this universe it is established that yes Edward IV was a bastard son of an archer thus making his issue null and void for succession.
It is also established that Buckingham connived in the murder of Edwards 2 boys, in his thirst for the throne.
Oh and lastly its well known that Richard was (as well as being a top soldier and battle commander-maybe not a top strategist ahem) that he was also very pious and he was respected-see the York archives.
So whats the effect of having a Yorkist England with an assured succession that has defeated the vipers of the Tudors on the following?
1. Reformation- happen in England? I personally think it will and perhaps even with a stronger effect. Don't know why I feel this but its in my waters...
2. relations with France, Spain and the Empire? What of Ireland? (Yorkists relations with Ireland were strong and positive)
3. 16th Century and the America's
4. Spanish Wars of Succession and Austrian Wars (7 Years War)
5. Attitudes towards American colonies
6. French Revolution- I can't see any reason why this butterfly should have any effect on the French Revolution but how is a Yorkist England/Britain going to deal with it? (and through to Napoleonic Wars)
7. Succession itself- Did the Hannoverarians ever get a look in? Did Georgy Porgy occur and Vicky?
8. WW1 and 2....
9 The Present Day....
Over to you guys and gals
(ps ok maybe not sunne in splendour as thats really Eddy IV)
