The Stuarts live on! (ATL)

Sirs, I here present unto you James Stuart the fourth of Scotland, your undoubted King. Wherefore all you who are come this day to do your homage and service, are you willing to do the same?

Introduction and Continuation of the Stuarts

On the Twenty-fourth of March, Anno Domini 1603, King James IV of Scotland and King James I of England, was crowned King of England(including Wales), Scotland, and Ireland. His Majesty's reign of 8,039 days or 22 years and 3 days was long enough though his line would fall shorter than most. In the OTL, the Stuart Dynasty ended in 1714. But, what if the Queen Anne (sister of Mary II) had not married Prince George of Denmark? In this timeline John Lindsay (Twentieth Earl of Crawford), after the death of his wife Lady Jean Murray, goes to London as per request of William III. While in London he meets Queen Anne, and they fall in love. Queen Anne, successfully poisons her then husband Prince George of Denmark and remarries John Lindsay. On March Eighth, 1702 where in the OTL Queen Anne became last Queen of the Stuarts, John Lindsay is proclaimed king. His Majesty's first proclamation was one to appease his wife, he changed his name from John Lindsay to King John Stuart I. In 1708 his son, the then Prince James VIII of Scotland and Prince James III of England was born in Edinburgh castle when the couple was visiting His Majesty's family. In 1729, John Stuart I abdicated and King James III of England was crowned.

Reign of James VIII of Scotland

James III felt very connected to his Scottish heritage and in 1734, moved to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland and was henceforth known as James VIII. In 1736 when he made his annual return to London (then a normal festival with parades and other festivities)he uncovered a journal of his mother's in which she, in great detail, described a document that would unite the Kingdoms of England and Scotland into Great Britain, after small revisions to account for the Capital moving to Edinburgh, the Acts of Union 1736 were proclaimed. Three years later (1739) James VIII married Luise Dorothea of Prussia (OTL 29 September 1680 – 23 December 1705) and in 1741 had a daughter, Princess Mary III and in 1744 a son, Prince James Johnathon Stuart IX.

Complete and total BS/ASB. First off, Anne deeply loved Prince George and wouldn't have poisoned him. Second, Why the hell would Anne's husband become King of anything? He would be her consort, nothing more. No way Anne of all Royals would ever give up her power to a consort nor would parliament consent to name the Earl Sovereign. Third, Anne would have been 43 when she had this so called Prince, highly unlikely and moreover he would have been highly unlikely so survive. Fourth, Anne would have NEVER named a son James. Fifth, why would this King James live in Scotland? England was wealthier, more powerful and more important, so he would definitely live in London. Sixth, so the King married a woman 28 years older than him and, had two children when she would have been in her 50s/60s.

I have no clue as to whether this is meant as a joke or not but I hope it is because this is total crap.

Just do the Old/Young Pretender restored. Lot more plausible and no ASB necessary. Hell, having Henry IX be installed is more likely.

I just like Scotland and it's my ATL so some people have to stop being so critical. It's not like if you don't criticize the crap out of me because I made up a different timeline (which is what this website is about) you're gonna die. Thank god for the people that weren't so rude.

Quite right. I apologise for myself and the others. However, you are going to need to ask a mod to move this to the ASB section, since this is extremely unrealistic.

Thank you for apologizing. Also, what are some sources you use, this is so unrealistic because I used google and wikipedia. I didn't really delve into the intricate politics of the late 17th and early 18th century, also I operate on a time schedule because I only had about 30 minutes to write this. And finally I don't really understand how this belongs in ASB this is alternate history before the 1900's so I'm pretty sure this should stay.

I also would like to apologize for the rudeness. My personal comments were just constructive criticism, and hopefully weren't taken as personal. Like others said, this just needs to be re-worked. I actually appreciate the originality.
