The State of the Teutonic Order survives

What if the State of the Teutonic Order would have survived instead of ceasing to exist in the 16th century?

Any thoughts on this?

could work simply have that one knight hochmeister not convert to Protestantism and become a duke. The teuts remain a polish vassal. Eventually russia eats up poland and teuts break free. Done

OK. That said, though, would this have eventually resulted in a completely Germanized Latvia and Estonia?

Indeed, any thoughts on this?

Option II: they are resettled to Podolia to work as a wall against Tatars, as some Poles proposed.

After all, there is already a model of an area in this region being completely Germanized--East Prussia. After all, as far as I know, the Baltic Prussian language became extinct in the 1600s or 1700s after East Prussia became sufficiently Germanized.

Indeed, could the same thing have happened to the (Teutonic Knights-ruled) Latvia and Estonia in this TL?

It doesn´t really ceased to exist, it simply secularized for power reasons. The Knights of Malta tried to hold out as a Crusader-Knight-Order-State but failed eventually.

I had hoped for a 'grand destiny' for a reformed Teutonic Order-State with my timeline but I got swamped with real-life and ultimately bored with endless research and storyboarding.

Elevator pitch:
1) break up Poland-Lithuania (I did this by having TO win Grünwald/Tannenberg)
2) bring them closer to the Empire
3) ultimately secularize, be basically like OTL Prussia, except different
