OK. That said, though, would this have eventually resulted in a completely Germanized Latvia and Estonia?could work simply have that one knight hochmeister not convert to Protestantism and become a duke. The teuts remain a polish vassal. Eventually russia eats up poland and teuts break free. Done

Such a Teutonic State would have rather hard for a future unified German state to annex, no?Option II: they are resettled to Podolia to work as a wall against Tatars, as some Poles proposed.

Didn't it lose its independence during this time, though?It doesn´t really ceased to exist, it simply secularized for power reasons. The Knights of Malta tried to hold out as a Crusader-Knight-Order-State but failed eventually.
Very interesting elevator pitch!I had hoped for a 'grand destiny' for a reformed Teutonic Order-State with my timeline but I got swamped with real-life and ultimately bored with endless research and storyboarding.
Elevator pitch:
1) break up Poland-Lithuania (I did this by having TO win Grünwald/Tannenberg)
2) bring them closer to the Empire
3) ultimately secularize, be basically like OTL Prussia, except different
