The Sponheim (Bolanden) des Brandebourg

In my casual browsing of a genealogy website (genealogy.euweb.cz) I came across a French lady, Madeleine Françoise de Montmorency (1629-1707) who married someone called Florent de Brandenbourg. I was rather surprised to find that the gentleman had NO ties to EITHER the Hohenzollerns nor the preceding Askaniër dynasty, but was actually a member of the house of Sponheim (Bolanden).

Which made me wonder just where/how the title of Baron of Brandenburg came from/about. Does anyone know

Looking back at the genealogy it seems to arise with one of the sons of the Sponheimer Vianden cadets Baron Friedrich II von der Neuerburg: his 3rd son is called Dietrich von Brandenburg. As it doesn't list his marriage it may be a marital inheritance.

This Brandenburg is located in Luxemburg and was part of Vianden in Stammtafeln zur geschichte der europäischen staaten VII and XXVI are genealogical tables of the lords and barons of Brandenburg indeed a cadet branch of Sponheim Vianden
