The Spanish match succeeds

The Spanish match was the brainchild of James I, and was pursued to bring peace between England and Spain. Charles took it up following his father's declining health. Let's say for whatever reason Maria Anna agrees to the marriage, and Charles and her marry./

What are the consequences of this?

Like what was said on my thread about Charles remarrying, Maria Anna was dead set against it, but I think I've come up with the next best thing. Philip III had a daughter in between Anne of Austria & Maria Anna named Maria who died the day after her birth in 1603. If she survived to adulthood & was less stubborn than her sister, she could marry Charles.

Interesting, so let's say that this happens, when would the two marry do you think?

I'm not sure, but it would probably be by 1625. What is the average marrying age of royals in this century? Anyway, another idea I had was if Anne & OTL Philip IV die before they had children, could a 2nd son of Charles & Maria be chosen? He'd have to convert to Catholicism of course, but I think a Stuart Spain would have very interesting consequences. :D

That would be very interesting and might well cause a war. Also average marrying age would be around twenty I think

Yeah there probably would be a war. In a TTL War of Spanish(& Portuguese) Succession between Great Britain & Austria, which side would France & the Netherlands chose?
