I think John Quincy Adams as Secretary of State will negotiate with the British as he did with Spain to purchase Florida or trade territories in one of his many deals. He already worked a deal giving parts of the northern Louisiana Purchase territory for part of Canada to set the 49th Parallel as US-British Canadian border as well gaining more land for Maine. Perhaps he adjusts claims in the Oregon Territory. As for southerners fleeing to Florida, didn't the Union forces pretty much subdue and reoccupy much of Florida or key ports? Let me know if I am misinformed.Alot of Southern loyalists would end up fleeing over to Florida since the British maintain control of it. It would also make things like Louisiana and US relations pretty complicated for a while.
If Britain keeps Florida, then they probably retake the Bahamas during the Napoleonic wars. If they don't then the Bahamas probably end up sharing whatever fate this timeline has for Cuba and Puerto Rico.

Would Britain be willing to sell Florida to the US? Or would it end up as another Canada?
