The Saga Begins-1977

WI the Star Wars movies had been produced and released in their original order? This would mean that Episode III would probably have been released circa 1983 or so, and the classic Star Wars: A New Hope would not come out until the late 1980s at the earliest! Would the Star Wars saga have fared worse, financially as well as critically, if the three prequels had been released in their original order? (on the other hand, we might have been spared the Ewoks and gotten a Clone Wars TV series earlier).

Its hard to say, the prequels were given a bad rap, but I'm not sure really how much of that is just nostlogia. I mean if you look at the orginal movies there's a healthy amount of bad writing, acting and cheesy moments as well.

I guess that you would have the prequels come out to roughly the same succes as the orginal trilogy did,and then lucas would decide to make the 4,5,and 6 in the late nineties.

How would changing the order of production effect the storylines that get told?
