"Universal peace cannot come until justice is enthroned throughout the world. Until the right has triumphed in every land and love reigns in every heart, government must, as a last resort, appeal to force."- Colonel William Jennings Bryan
Just found out that he joined a militia regiment in 1898 to fight in the Spanish-American War. He never saw combat.
However, we have the career of Theodore Roosevelt as a model of what could have been. Roosevelt came out of the war a celebrity although he saw barely any combat.
Is there any way that Bryan could participate in the War in a similar manner? And how would it help his political career?
