The Rotten Pomegranate - Catherine of Aragon dies on 1518
Death of Catherine of Aragon and aftermath
On February 1518, Catherine announced her sixth pregnancy. In March, she visited Merton College, Oxford and also made a pilgrimage to the shrine of St Frideswide, asking for a healthy son. On 10 November, she gave birth to a daughter, but the child was weak and lived and said that would live for a week but Catherine died a week after giving birth to the daughter instead and the Princess recovered.
The second daughter of Catherine of Aragon was named Margaret after Margaret of Beaufort.
Henry VIII wondered would he marry again now that Catherine of Aragon is dead, however his ministers told him to marry again, Henry wanted to marry someone like one of his mistress Mary Boleyn as he said.
note: this is not the POD, I will post the POD later.
