The road never taken

1334 - Aldona of Lithuania, wife of the young king Casimir III of Poland, bears a son. The child is christened Wladyslaw.
 
1335 - Meeting of the Kings of Poland, Hungary and Bohemia at Visegrad. John the Blind of Bohemia renounce his rights to the Polish crown in enchange of 1,2mln of Prague Groschen.

1336 - Treaty of Brzesc Kujawski between Poland and the Teutonic Order. Following the arbitration of the Kings of Hungary and Bohemia, Cuyavia and the Dobrzyn Land are returned to Poland while Kazimierz renounces his claims to Pomerania

1338-1339
- Statues of Casimir, reforming administration and law.

1345- The Black Death reaches Crimea

1346-1350- The Black Death ravages Europe. Millions die, but Poland is largely spared.

1349 - Death of Boleslaw Jerzy II, the Piast Prince of Galich-Volhynia. Lithuania and Poland invade, while Hungary is immobilized by Plague.

1350 - Prince Wladyslaw Kazimierzowic is elected by boyars and crowned in Galich, with Polish troops "assisting". However, the northern part of country is largely occupied by Lithuania.

1353 - The Treaty of Chelmno. Volhynia is anexed by Lithuanians, while Wladyslaw Kazimierzowic is recognised as Prince in Galich.

1354 - Wladyslaw marries Catherine of Bohemia (br.1344), daughter of Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV. As part of the deal, King Casimir renounce his claims to Silesia.

1355 - In the Balkans, Manuel Kantakuzenos defeats the forces of Stefan Dusan of near Adrianopolis, thus ending the period of Serbian expansion. Stefan himself is killed by Turkish allies of the Byzantines.
