The Right Honourable Sir Oswald Mosley, PM?

Whats happnin' players ;)

As the title would suggest, this thread is about Oswald Mosley as the British PM. No comments on the BUF though, this isn't the Nazi puppet Mosley, this is the idealist socialist Mosley.

Two points that can act as PODs.
1) Mosley given a more powerful position in the 1929 general election. Works his way up from there.
2) Manages to get the 'Mosley Memorandum'- his plan to fix the economy- passed.

So how will any of this affect the Depression, WW2, the Cold War and the modern world?

You may begin.

PS. I realise this may have been done before, if it has then don't whinge about it.

It's plausible, a young charismatic Labour leader might be just what the party needs. If I remember correctly there was a TL on here about him being in the Labour cabinet, I think it wound up as a dystopia.

On a board like this, I'd wager that nearly everything's done except for incredibly esoteric minutia. Now granted, said minutia can be interesting to read about, and can create a great timeline, but insisting on complete originality on a board with the number of threads this board seems to be a difficult proposition, even with the search function. Also, we have to keep in mind attitudes about thread necromancy, if someone wants to commentate about something and the thread about it is relatively old, should he void his query entirely?

Sorry about that tangent, that wasn't really directed at you Maverick anyway.

The POD would possibly be later than his memorandum and hinge on either his not forming the New Party and staying within the Labour Party to argue his case. Had he shown patience or possibly even returned after 1931 he may have been in a strong position to replace Lansbury as leader or Attlee after the 1935 election in which Labour may have adopted much of his memorandum. However Mosley being Mosley was too impatient
