The Republic of Skye.

I guess this is going to be a short and humorous one?
No, it isn't actually.

Historically, there was the Battle of the Braes in Skye. This is telling an alternate history of the Battle. I want to be absolutely clear that this does not start off as Alternate History. The PoD is within the story, but I feel that unless the story is told in full and without a knowledge of what happened, it will make no sense.

Yes, there may be bias in this though.

...the more you know. Well, carry on.

Sounds like they should unite with the trouble at the mill.

Has one of the crossbeams gone out askew on the treadle again?

Methinks it is the Lord MacDonald who will shortly receive a lesson in civilized behavior, and I don't know which of his likely endings is more delicious; dying as he seeks to assert his "natural" authority, or living to see himself stripped of his incomes and reduced to penury.

Sorry this has fallen into a bit of a hiatus, I had some really bad personal news which has held it up. It will return though.
