Probably not. Many of those who died in the defense of Canada were Canadians. Plus, the US troops weren't exactly on their best behavior during the invasion. Maybe if Canada does join the US then historiography will change over the next century or so, but in the 1830s the Canadians will still think of the 1812 invasion as an invasion, not an attempted liberation.
