The Republic of Augerstotska

Map (Fixed).png

Augerstorska is a state located between Deutschland, Czechia, and Polska. It was formed by the U.S.S.R. from the provinces of Saxony, Karlow Vary, Ústí nad Labem, and Liberec. This was done to defuse power from the Germans post-war.

Even after the Cold War has ended, the cultural mixing over the cold war made this region culturally distinct, allowing Augerstotska to stay independent from both Deutschland and Czechia. After leaving the Warsaw Pact in 1989, they took a path similar to Polska, putting in economic reforms that allowed their economy to increase over time.

They joined the E.U. in 2009, staying as the newest member until Croatia's entry to the E.U. in 2013. While they did take a hit during the 2008 financial crisis, it didn't hit as hard as other places in Europe. Today Augerstotska is a culturally distinct nation. Thanks to their history, they have good relations with their bordering neighbors, although Polska's recent political shifts have shaken relations between the two nations.
