The Queen and the court in Canada.

would Canada still have a Governor-General or would the Queen actually function as Head of State?

I suspect the King/Queen would assume the role of Governor -General directly, ie there may not be a G-G in addition other Royals may do the same in the other dominions. to better co-ordinate the resistance as long as it lasts.

the GG is of state yes, but at that time it was in the capacity of the sovereign's representative. the King/Queen was King/Queen of Canada as well as the UK. the country may not have been called a Kingdom but was as much a CM as the UK.

With the new constitution though I think that may have changed.

You think that the secret service of Vichy could feed the nationalism in Quebec?
We have another big problem: De Gaulle and the Free France.
If De Gaulle is set in Quebec....just imagine!

Remember that in the Fatherland scenario UK is not occupied.
We have a puppet nation with a restored "King Edward VIII","Queen Wallis",and i think Oswald Mosley prime minister.
Technically we have an usurper that call "usurper" the Queen.
Interesting situation!

DeGaulle is going to be more concerned with France under a Vichy regime rather than Quebec. He probably is trying to get them out from under the German thumb. In which case he needs all the friends he can get. He is not needlessly going to be stirring the pot in Quebec.
