- The disputed boundary between Canada and Newfoundland is now shown in the correct colour.
- Because the Republic of China did not recognise Tibet, Mongolia or Tannu Urankhai as independent, their borders with those nations are now marked as disputed.
- The boundary of Tibet has been tweaked.

Looks good as far as I can tell, but is it just me or are the coastlines on the Azores and Cape Verde too light? They look to be around the same shade as the first-level borders.
I noticed a pixel on the Free State-Northern Cape border had the wrong color, here's a patch

I'm sorry but I missed Kosovo under NATO occupation. And Vojvodina was a second level division in Serbia, when Montenegro was a subject of a federation

Also I'm not sure how I should display protectorates: above (0), or one of the below (1, 2, or 3)?
I prefer solution 3, as it shows that these are at least nominally independent nations, but vassals/puppets of (here) the Roman Empire.
I say solution 2 only because solution one makes it look like Rome has claims on Armenia.
I'd say use solution 3 for vassal states (eg Poland during the Cold War or British Egypt) and solution 2 for "influenced states" (eg Romania or Hungary during WW2)
A very good idea. Solution 2 can also serve for outlining an inter- or supranational organisation (e.g. EU or the Commonwealth)
