Over the last few days I have been looking at some possible POD’s for the Ottomans ( yes reading as many of Abdul Hadi Pasha II's comments as possible ) after checking one Sultan after another going back in History one stood out as a most interesting young fellow namely Sultan Osman II. He was very Young at the time of his Death and seemed to have had a Major problem with the Janissaries how would the Middle east look if this Young Man Lived longer and was successful in reforms. Including Tax system?
Was looking at a Alternate as he was just so young cut down in his Youth (Born November 3, 1604 – Died May 20, 1622)
Say getting rid of the Janissaries by the 1630s if he was more careful or had a good Cadre of advisors? Would this be possible since this period seemed that the Janissaries where such a powerful political force in the Empire
Getting him to live to a reasonable age of say late 50's or 60's how hard could a Young Sultan push the Conservatives of the time?
