The Persian Socialist Soviet Republic

Okay, in the Great War, the British ended up occupying the Southern half of the nation; it was already their sphere of influence, after all. This, along with an unjust land distribution, and the usual things that inspired revolutionaries led to the Jangal movement. Opposing the central government, they were mostly a nuisance until the 1919, when the movement felt the Anglo-Persian treaty reduced Persia to a British puppet. The Jangal movement joined forces with the USSR, forming the Persian Socialist Soviet Republic.

Ultimately the Soviets withdrew support, bungled a bit by having the Persian Communist Party announce it planned on taking over the movement from within, etc.

But I think it's possible for the Jangalis, from their base in Northern Persia, to take Tehran. Britain pitches a bit, and you end up with a de facto partition of Iran, with British backed states in the South, and a revolutionary government in the north.
