It appeared that the Ottoman sultan was so desperate for assistance against the Greek rebels who had managed to beat off Ottoman attacks that he called on his viceroy in Egypt, Mehmet Ali Pasha, to intervene. Ali promised to do this in exchange for the Ottomans to hand over Crete and Egypt to him while giving his Ibrahim Pasha control over the Peloponnese. How is it possible for Ibrahim Pasha to be successful in putting down the Greek-Maniot revolt? What are the repercussions? I imagine this would butterfly any European intervention or increase its chances
