The Official Creation of DC Timeline of Earth-53

If the Question was active in WWII he wouldn't be the poor mans Batman, nor would Batman be around in WWII. I have it set up that Batman is 22 in 1962.

@Fenwick

Sorry- the commentary is of the second Question (Crispus Allen) and not of the first. I might have missed that.

Harlequin

The history before Dr. Quinn's transformation is stellar. She received her PhD from Gotham University in psychiatry, specializing in the curing of homicidal tendencies in super-villains. She was the chairman at Arkham Asylum (before it's second closure) with her more successful cases ranging from Poison Ivy, Clayface, the Riddler, and the Ventriloquist/Scarface. The Riddler has gone on record in stating the reason behind his cure was Dr. Quinn.

The history after is a whole different subject all together. It was in her capacity as a doctor that she was dispatched from GU (on scholarship supported by Wayne-Luther) to Opal City. The original mission was to help the displaced citizenry of Star City from their collective (and tragic) experience.

She was present up to King Joker's ascension into madness. She was present in the formal exile of Hawkman. She was even present in consoling Hawkman from his "Blood Rage".

It is relatively unclear on how King Joker/Mr. Black managed to get his hands on him. A common story circulated amongst the GU staff proposes that she was recruited by the Joker in "curing Man-Bat". It was in this capacity that she came into contact with the Joker, fell in love with him by artificial means, and then transformed into Harlequin. Other scenarios, as put forth by the Gotham Herald, build the fact that she was another victim of the Joker's insanity, driven into a subservient role, and never rescued by Batman due to the(n) Luther Crisis.

Whatever the exact reasoning behind her abduction, Harlequin took over her presence on the world stage, becoming a living representative of that lost art. She has been observed accompanying the Joker in times of need, often referring him as "Puddin'", and wielding her trademark (overbuilt) hammer. The relationship of the Joker to his Clown Princess has been dissected many times by various doctors of note and will not be entailed here. Nevertheless, one should be aware of Dr. Fate's belated attempt to "cure" her through her former ways (augmented by "magic").

Today, Dr. Quinn has managed to regain her sanity (but not her position) thanks to Doctor Fate's second treatment (along with Zantanna). She is currently holding a position in Opal City Community College as a tutor. Her situation has been disrupted, sadly, by the persistent presence of The Riddler , whom has gone on record in stating "I stand by the doctor who cured me and I will stand by her always".

To this statement, Mr. Black has also gone on record in stating simply "The Riddler's gone insane".

S.T.A.R. Labs

A former Luther-Wayne corporation specializing in interstellar weaponry, it was formally bought over by Mr. Black's shell companies, and brought over to Star City.

The seizure of this company, one might claim, is the reason why the first Robin was slain. This rumor has been proven false due to the formal installation of S.T.A.R. Labs by Mr. Shade (not King Joker) in recent years. No comment has been made by Luther-Wayne Corporation. The last statement issued by that company (back in 1985) lay in the first sale of the company for unspecified reasons.

It is clear that STAR Labs is supplying arms to Mr. Black and Intergang (recently taken over by Mr. Black involving Penguin & other issues best not gone into this entry).

The Heralds of the Demon and the Mosque Azarath.

Grown mighty on the strength of an army capable of invading every galaxy in Universe-53 eight times over, Trigon pondered how to confront the galaxy whose vile energies birthed him. His first solution was to merge his lineage with one of the xenophobic, warlike and barbarous apes that rule the planet Sol III. This birthed Raven, a tall and cruel female who desired to corrupt emotions and turn the planet Sol III into slag.

Next came a merger of his energies with the Kryptonian Faora, a desperate exile of the Thousand-Year War. This birthed the abomination Doomsday. Doomsday is a grey-skinned and spiked creature possessing Kryptonian strength and powers, combined with the deep and utter evil of the demon Trigon. Trigon intends for Doomsday to tackle that nuisance Kal-L.

Following came an abduction of the wife of a Tameranian King called Myand'r. From the Tameranian female came two spawn, Koriand'r and Komand'r. These four beings are the Heralds of the Demon awaiting their chance to wreak utter havoc on the Milky Way.

Mosque Azarath

When the young woman who would become Arella was abducted, the Imam Azar used the left-over energies of Trigon's manifestation to escape the nightmarish Black Death-infested city of Baghdad. He used his newfound power to found a Mosque Azarath, which would become sentinels against the Demon's coming.

The Mosque Azarath keeps tabs on development of Islam on Earth, and the new leader Azar IV is displeased with the heretics who claim suicide is the way to the Hereafter. Yet, in the interest of keeping a peace between hostile Earth dominated by the Christian United States and Russia, he has decided to swallow his anger. After all, when the demon is destroyed, there can always be a settling of accounts....

(The Mosque Azarath is more militaristic, preaching an attitude of Jihad against the Demon Trigon (called Iblis) and has small Christian and Buddhist groups, none of which applies to Mainstream DC.)

Lia Nelson (a.k.a. Flash III)- Lia Nelson of Beverly Hills, CA is the first female metahuman to take on the role of the Flash. NASA Astronauts Chief Engineer Celeste Nelson and Cmdr.Terrance Kelly are the proud parents of the metahuman hero. Nelson became pregnant with the child during the 1978 Zeus Mission to Jupiter, making her the first pregnancy in space. She first displayed her powers in 1990, at the age of twelve. In 1994, she made her initial debut as Impulse. In 1997, after winning the approval of Jay Garrick, she became the Flash. She earned a membership into the Justice League of America (JLA) in 2004. Lia has the ability to fly at light-speed, teleport, and change her appearance. She can create solid holograms out of light, including the light that makes up her own body. She can either appear in multiple places at once or project images of herself. And despite her valley-girl persona, she is “bright” in the figurative sense as well. Still in her teens, she designed the technology for the world’s first holographic movie, Into the Light (1998) (starring Orlando Bloom and Sarah Michelle Gellar). She often annoys Jay Garrick (a.k.a. Flash I) with her constant references to Rodeo Drive and Melrose Avenue. She also confides in her UCLA roommate and "BFF", Mary Maxwell.

Justice League of America

In 1962 the so called "Golden Age" heroes where gaining in years, and in many cases younger, more powerful heroes began appearing about the world. As the danger to America continued to grow, a small band of costumed adventures joined together to form a new team for a new age. From far off space Starro the Conqueror arrived to enslave earth.

The first to detect this strange creature was Arthur Curry, the son of Tom Curry, a lighthouse keeper, and Atlanna, a water-breathing outcast from the lost, underwater city of Atlantis. Calling himself Aquaman, Arthur set about defending the and exploring the oceans. Due to his heritage, Aquaman discovered as a youth that he possessed various superhuman abilities, including the powers of surviving underwater, communication with sea life, and tremendous swimming prowess. Eventually, Arthur decided to use his talents to become the defender of the Earth's oceans, and then the King of Atlantis. As Starro moved through the ocean he caused a minor earthquake, sending Aquaman after the monster.

The earthqauke along the oceans depths was felt by none but the Amazons who lived upon the island of Themyscira. The Queen of the Amazons Hippolyta feared that once more the world of man had plunged into chaos. Hippolyta herself had left the peaceful island to go fight for the forces of freedom as Wonder Woman. Yet the island was a curse in itself. Any who lived there was permitted immortality, and the strength of gods, any who left where forced to give up two days for every day spent in the world of men.

Hippolyta who had lived in the world from 1942 to 1955, stepped onto the island and aged twenty six years. Once a beautiful woman, now the Queen was showing the gray hairs of age, and in no condition to fight as she once did. Fearing the worst, she sent her daughter Diana as the new Wonder Woman (ii). She possessed stunning beauty and a loving heart, gifts from the goddess Aphrodite. From Athena, she received the gift of great wisdom; from Demeter, the power and strength of the earth; from Hestia, sisterhood with fire; and from Artemis, unity with beasts and the instincts and prowess of a hunter. Finally, from the god Hermes Diana received the gift of speed and the power of flight.

Starro arrived on land and south out a proper place to begin his conquest of earth. Moving past Star City Oliver Queen, was busy packing for his move to Seattle when Starro appeared over head. Queen quickly ran for cover and changed into his costumed guise as Green Arrow. Oliver Queen began as a wealthy playboy who lived like Robinson Crusoe on a semi-deserted Pacific island, after having been washed overboard during an ocean cruise. Forced to hunt for survival, Queen developed his natural archery skill to a peak level. When drug-runners came to the island, he captured them and returned to civilization. Green Arrow willing informs any that the "drug runners" were two ordinary guys with a small boat growing pot on the island, who shared their crop and a ride back home. He claims that when he reached civilization, and the story got out, the media and urban myths trumped it up to something else entirely.

Starro decided upon Central City, with its large population, and close to the beef the creature so loved. As the battle began Roy Palmer, who was visiting the city, became the Atom to try and stop the monster. Quickly the Atom found himself assisted by a person with all the same powers as Jay Garrick better known as the Flash. Barry Allen is a police scientist with a reputation for being very slow, deliberate, and frequently late, which frustrates his fiancee, Iris West. One night, as he is preparing to leave work, a lightning bolt shatters a case full of chemicals and spills them all over Allen. As a result, Allen finds that he can run extremely fast and has matching reflexes. He dons a set of red tights sporting a lightning bolt, dubs himself the Flash (ii) (after his childhood hero in the comic books, Jay Garrick), and becomes a crimefighter of Central City.

As the battle with Starro looked to end in defeat the two heroes where joined by Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and the Green Arrow. When the battle was over, the heroes decided that such a force would be needed again in the future. The Justice League of America was born that day, with the Atom as the leader, and Wonder Woman as second in command. The Justice League operated from a secret cave outside of Central City.

@Fenwick

You forgot the All-Star Squadron

The Riddler
Edward Nigma

The Riddler is an odd character. It is unclear if he is attached to the Joker or not. He is known through the habits of wearing green robes with black questions all over. He was originally located in Gotham City. Being one of the more "victorious" of the Batman's street justice, he was sent to Arkham Asylum, then cured by Dr. Harley Quinn.

As one can expect, the cure had mixed results. Edward Nigma turned his talents to puzzles. He did have a strong hatred towards the Wayne-Luther Corporation. This period of going "legit" was complicated with the rise of the super-hero groups. Edward Nigma was forced to abandon his fledgling company due to the anti-Joker sentiment within that region.

Edward Nigma is considered as a super-villain. He is considered as the founder of the Rogue's Gallery although never quite pegged as either hero/villain. He has been confounded by the Joker in his attempt in "wooing" his former doctor. If the Riddler does commit a crime, he is considered as the more "polite" of any criminals that one can interact with, often using his woe-begotten prizes to orphaned children.

Captain Cold

The reader of this short chronicle should be informed that Captain Cold has no relation to Mr. Freeze, late of Keystone City.

With that said, Captain Cold is often pared in the constant battles with Robin, often leaving various things frozen by his "ray-gun". He does bandy about in traditional Inuit guise. Much akin to the Riddler, he is considered as a "respected" evil-doer, making it known to many that he does observe a "code of honor" when dealing with super-heroes. Alas, this does not appeal to the Green Arrow, whom he has declared many times as an "evil-doer gone off the deep end and the reason why Robin Hood is better relies on the fact of him being an outlaw, not co-opted by the establishment".

Poison Ivy

The heritage of Poison Ivy can be aligned with that of the Black Canary. The only subtraction from that similarity rests in their powers. The Black Canary has power over sound. Poison Ivy has the ability to control plants.

Poison Ivy is commonly known by her red hair, "leafy" strapless swimsuit, and her assistant Bane, providing the muscle whenever she lacks that capability. Through many treatments, Poison Ivy's real heritage has been established as Pamela Isley-Woodrue, a former botanist that disappeared in the many battles waged in the Central City area. The powers have been directly linked to her husband's tendencies to implement technologies that have been labeled dangerous. Bane - a hulking monolith with a Mexican wrestler's mask - has been displayed as another victim of Dr. Woodrue's insanity.

It should be observed that men are often the victims of Poison Ivy's ...sexual tendencies and that female super-heroes are usually recommended when an attack occurs.

Kyle Rayner (a.k.a "Green Lantern" apprenticed to Jong-Ri)

Kyle Rayner was a comic book artist living in New York City, but found his life unsatisfying. One day, as he was walking in Central Park, he noticed a green glow that burned brighter as he approached. Intrigued, he dug down to discover a box containing Alan Scott's Lantern and Power Ring, as well as a note explaining the contents and how they should be used.

Initially, Kyle used his powers to become a costumed vigilante, but after a run-in with Superman he decided to use his powers for a greater cause - safeguarding mankind. He was offered a position in the JLA, but declined, explaining that he needed to gain more control over his powers. To this extent, then, he was apprenticed to Jong-Ri, the Green Lantern of the PRC. Although their relationship has occasionally been rocky, with their political and emotional points of view being so different, the training is going well, with Kyle becoming a true Green Lantern.

Adam Strange

Adam Strange can be linked to the pulp heroes due to their common origin. The only problem manifests in the fact that Adam is not necessarily a native of the times. This quandary is justified by the origin date of his "abducted" to the planet Rann - 1864. At that year, a certain Union soldier incorporated in General Sherman's March to the sea, was plucked by mysterious means, and deposited on that far off world.

Since that date, Adam Strange has been deposited back on Earth at various date, running into several noted personalities within the 19th century - H.G. Wells, Jonah Hex, Hannibal Hawk, Sherlock Holmes, and so on. In every period that he visited, the Union soldier soon gained the name "Adam Strange" because of his mannerisms, as well as his ill-fit experiences that only the pulps could describe many years later.

With the advent of interstellar contact, Adam Strange has acquired a certain position within contemporary Earth stemming from people that he can relate to. Various explorers within the realms claimed by the Rann and Thananagar have observed that Adam Strange did hold a position of influence on that planet, spurring the incorporation of old US Army designs within their military uniforms.

Adam Strange can be spotted in his retro-futuristic red/white uniform, complete with jet back, finned cap, a pseudo-ray revolver/gun, and various slang terms that seem at odds with each other. He does travel through a device called the Zeta Beam. He does have a son, daughter, and wife on Rann. He has even introduced his daughter as "Mary Strange", most noted in her utilization of a ray musket/rifle rather than a revolver.

Tobias "Toby" Manning a.k.a."Terra-Man"- In 1872, former Confederate soldier and bank robber Toby Manning terrorized the American Southwest. As such, he was often at odds against Jonah Hex, El Diablo, and Bartholomew "Bat" Masterson. During one such encounter, he battled against Adam Strange. During this encounter he was transported to the planet Rann. With the aid of Devlos Ungol (a.k.a. "Traitor") he blazed a trail of terror across 12 star-systems. With the addition of technology from Rann, Thanagar, Khund, et al. Tobby Manning, while appearing much like he did in 1872, has increased regenerative abilities as well as having weapons implanted into his body. He now fires plasma-energy blasts from his fingers and hands. In 1883, he returned to Earth, eventually working with Ras-Al-Ghul in an effort to overthrow the U.S. government that was foiled by the efforts of Jonah Hex, Bartholomew "Bat Masterson", and Adam Strange. In 1946, he attempted to turn in Superman to an alien being named the Collector, angering many members of the superhero community. In 1971, he attempted to seduce Anya Savenlovich a.k.a. Green Lantern to steal her ring, on a barroom bet. In 1983, he encountered the bounty hunter Lobo. Since that time, they have become drinking buddies. In 1988, both men became the subject of arrest by L.E.G.I.O.N. authorities led by Vril Dox II a.k.a. Braniac-2. He is considered a wanted and armed criminal, and should be treated as such at all times.

Zatanna

Zatanna is one of the numerous "magic" users scattered throughout the East Coast. She has been seen in league with Dr. Fate, the noted "wizard", whom attempted to cure the fallen Dr. Quinn. She is often seen in fishnet stockings, a traditional magician's tuxedo coat, and a black top hat.

As most with those gifted with "magic", their rise can be traced back to the discovery of arcane energies during WW2 - on both sides. Dr. Fate and the Spectre are two "pioneers" if they can be called that way. Zatanna does claim that her craft comes from her father, whom closely worked with Carter Hall, and switched to a hybrid "magic" psychiatry.

Zatanna is somewhat older that what her physical features display, obviously, stemming from her usage of her art. Her craft can be spotted due to the words spoken in reverse, ending or interjected with abracadabra, and limited use against using high technologies. One can even raise the particular issue of Jonah Hex, which is a story best untold at this time.

Booster Gold

Booster Gold can be spotted by her blue/gold costume, yellow goggles, and ability to switch genders.

Booster Gold, as s/he can claim, stems from a different time-line where "such trivialities of gender are generally ignored". S/he does have a strong tendency towards hitting on everyone that might be around. Sadly, this has ceased with the now infamous Nabu Incident.

Since that time, Booster Gold is a woman of Southeastern Asian origins with strong masculine tendencies. She has also declined a continuance on her role with the JLA and concentrated her efforts on issues involving the mysterious Rip Hunter.

All Star Squadron

A heroic team founded in balance to the Justice Society of America (whom fought in Europe), the All-Star Squadron was known for their daring raids in rescuing prisoners of war from the Home Islands, and too many adventures to go into detail here.

The All Star Squadron did last to 1950. From that year, their roles were eventually subsumed by the Justice Society of America/Justice League of America. Here is a partial list of the heroes:

Billy Batson (a.k.a. "Captain Marvel") / Project SHAZAM- While America had Superman and the Soviet Union had Green Lantern, Great Britain had Captain Marvel. In 1910, Thaddeus Bodog Sivana born under the volcano Orizaba, in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. In 1919, Sivana's family has emigrated to Rio. His father dies, and he aligned himself with the criminal element to protect and provide for himself and his mother. In 1928, Sivana has emigrated to Europe. He begins his research in genetics and met Martin Heidegger and Reich-Chancellor Adolph Hitler, among others. In 1934, Sivana starts working for the Nazis, continued his genetic research and also became involved in rocketry, particularly the V2 Project. In 1941, Sivana realizing the Axis cannot win the war, defected to England.

Billy Batson was born to John and Ellen Batson in Wiltshire, England in 1940. In 1941, Freddy Freeman was born to Major General Sir Ian Freeman, RAF, in Edindburgh, unfortunately, his mother dies in childbirth. Mary Bromfeld Batson would be born in Wiltshire in 1947.

In 1952, Project SHAZAM begins under Sivana. Subjects are to be cloned, with the superhuman artificial bodies placed in infraspace and summonable via a post-hypnotic key word. In 1955, Freddy Freeman (a.k.a. Captain Marvel Jr.) was chosen for Project SHAZAM. Sivana eventually diverted government money and establishes a second, private lab to carry on his cloning and genetic programming experiments. Mary Bromfeld Batson (a.k.a. Marvel Girl), Theodore Adam (a.k.a. Black Adam), and a small rabbit named Hoppy (a.k.a. Marvel Bunny) were chosen. In 1961, the Batson siblings, Theodore Adam and Freddy Freeman prove to be the four most successful guinea-pigs in Project SHAZAM, and thus field tests (a.k.a. "missions") of the four began. In 1963, the Marvel Family was supposedly destroyed by Project BLACK ADAM (as designed by Sivana, essentially an atomic bomb cloaked by holographic projection) in Brighton, England after the British government felt that the experiments of Sivana were "politically inconvenient".

Government records are scant after 1963, but according to county records, Cissie Sommerly and Billy Batson were married in a small town outside of Larksmere, England.

Unfortunately, the survival of the Marvel Family would prove even more inconvenient. In 1982, during a moment of stress during an attempted terrorist takeover of the atomic power station at Larksmere, Billy Batson recalled his key word, and Captain Marvel was reborn. In 1983, Mary Marvel challenged Marvelman in combat. Although she was eventually defeated, she had to be placed into cryogenic freeze in a facility in Wormwood, England by the British Ministry of Defense (MOD). In 1985, Freddy Freeman, in a fit of anger killed the 2,425,630 residents of inner London, and had to be executed by Captain Marvel and the the members of the Justice League of America (JLA). Since that time, Captain Marvel and the Marvel Family has served as a warning to any nation that feels that they can control metahumans with ease....

Black Adam (ii)

The name Adam has been used many times over history. There was been a Black Adam in England. There is another in the US - specifically involved with Hawkman - curtailed with the Joker crisis break out in the '70's.

The St. Roch's Museum of Law Enforement dictates that this Black Adam is described in the same manner of Namor with the exception of the ankle wings, trimmed black front top, and a lightning bolt on the chest. With time travel being utilized in the modern as if it was a simple doorway, Black Adam is referred as the one threat that "was in the past; stayed in the past". Time travel being tricky as it is, JSA annuals have situated that Black Adam was/is a threat.

Documents issued by that academic institution have postulated that Black Adam perished at the hands of Nabu/Dr. Fate - with the specific details lost to history.

Retcon: I just realized that Namor is Marvel not DC - so that sentence should read:

this Black Adam is described in the same manner of Aquaman (ii) with the exception of his elfish ears.

Too bad we don't have the JLU conspiracy theorist version of The Question. Though this is an alt-thread, so I guess it's best to keep to alt-versions.

Can someone do an alt-Tommy Monaghan, aka the Hitman?

The Experience- From 1967, during the Summer of Love, until 1975, the Experience was was a superhero team that was formed in the absence of the Justice Society of America (JSA) and as a "progressive" alternative to the Justice League of America (JLA). Based out of San Francisco, California, the group worked along the West Coast of the United States. The members included:

Acro-Bat (a.k.a. Walter Chase)- Chase was a metahuman from San Jose, CA who manifested superhuman powers, without visible deformities. He could absorb photons in the form of heat and light, leaving only a cloud-like void of blackness visible, and can incapacitate his foes with hypothermia. Acro-bat could use the absorbed energy to boost his strength and speed to aid his acrobatic abilities to superhuman levels, and could "see" in the dark using thermal imaging. He could also absorb other frequencies of energy such as radar microwaves, but this required a greater effort. Since most of his body's energy comes from heat absorption, he needed very little food.

Bronze Wraith (a.k.a. Mordecai A. Johnson)- Johnson was driving a bulldozer at a construction site in Oakland, California when he accidentally ruptured a container of illegally buried nuclear waste. The exposure would have killed him, were it not for the fact that his dormant metahuman genes activated under the stress of the moment, turning him into the Bronze Wraith. His body integrated the toxic radioactive isotopes, increasing his mass and density, and replacing most of the calcium in his bones with heavy metals and bone-seekers such as strontium.

Major Flashback a.k.a. Dr. Victor Martin- Martin was a renowned biochemist and a burned-out hippie from the University of California at Berkeley, with the ability to use various drugs (usually derivations of psychoactive drugs such as LSD) to transform into several other forms, each with their own powers and individual personalities.

Mister Action (a.k.a. Walter Jon Steele)- Steele was regarded as one of the strongest men in the world. His force field when active, granted him immunity from virtually anything. He was especially resistant to physical impacts, such as bullets and fists. Golden Boy didn't age, and while he looked c.22 years old, despite being born in 1924. In 1968, he was forced to betray his colleagues to COINTELPRO (Counter Intelligence Program) by the FBI, which earned him the nickname "Judas".

The Manx (a.k.a. Karen Malloy)- was an attractive but introverted librarian from Palo Alto, CA until the day she discovered she was a metahuman, gifted with the ability to become insubstantial. She used this power to emulate the romantic heroes of her favorite stories as the Manx, robbing from the rich (and corrupt) and giving to the poor (mostly charities benefiting battered women and pets). However, the limitations of her powers (e.g. that she could only "ghost" items of low mass and density) determined not only that her "work clothes" would consist only of a mask and a bikini.

Song Bird (a.k.a. Cheryl Robbins)- Robbins had brown and white feathered wings, and although she looked as if she weighed about 140 lb, but due to her hollow bones, only weighs 80 lb. Her wings granted her the ability to fly, although her actual flight power is a form of telekinesis. She was a world famous metahuman, having her own talk show ("On A Wing"), cosmetic line, designer clothing label, etc. Peregrine was also turned on by excitement and danger, often joining in on dangerous situations and events. She even was a Playboy playmate in 1972, sparking international attention...

The entire team (and some of their enemies) were massacred by Dr. Trap (Larry Trapp). Trapp was a disfigured scientist whose girlfriend was killed accidentally in the crossfire between the Experience and their arch-rivals the House of Pain. Trap was eventually defeated by the Justice League of America (JLA), but only after he reportedly killed over 35 super-heroes and villains in 1975.

One You Didn't See Coming...

The Wedding of Princess Diana of Themyscira (a.k.a. "Wonder Woman") and King Artur I of Atlantis (a.k.a. "Aquaman")- Two years ago was the most shocking wedding to happen in the DC timeline. The wedding was initially formulated during the "War of the Gods" (1991) as a means to united the "children of Athena" (e.g. Amazons/Themyscira) and the "children of Poseidon" (e.g. Atlanteans/ Atlantis and Poseid). Many have pointed out that their initial meeting in 1981 with the Justice League of America (JLA) has been described as a "star-crossed". Ever since 1991, pop culture leaders such as Jerry Seinfeld, Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, and Chris Rock have called Aquaman "the weaker of the couple..." Anya Savenlovich a.k.a. Green Lantern has saracastically called the relationship "the union of two political dinosaurs who have yet to learn that absolute monarchies are dead..." In 1994, there were even rumors on the Internet that the Wonder Woman was embarassed by Aquaman's presence. The 1997 visit of Princess Diana to Atlantis ended disastrously with an assassination attempt on her life. In 2000, the relationship was thrown for a loop again, when a woman calling herself Aquagirl claimed to have traveled from the future, and claimed to be the daughter of the couple. In 2005, Wonder Woman has begun to settle down with the formation of an academy on Themyscira for female metahumans. The recent 2006 movie starring Mandy Moore and James Woods, directed by James Cameron has also boosted the image of Aquaman as being a sex symbol. The couple has become one of the "most powerful couples in the world" in the metahuman and political senses of the phrase, the results of their union are guaranteed to make things interesting...
