What if the US nuclear problems was delayed so the first nuke was created in 1946, after WW2. What kinds of implications would this have on world history??

...Er, well, for starters, WWII may not end in 1945, depending on a lot of factors (and that's an 800-page argument all on its own). Without nukes we may see Downfall, or any number of other endings to the Pacific War.
 
well for starters, i see no reason the Soviet's won;t invade Japan, so we're looking at the Sterotypical 'North/South Japan' senario.

If the Soviet's don't, we have Olympic/Majestic, and the Soviets involving themselves in China more.

after that, maybe the first nuke is used to take out the communist in china, or something.
