What if, as suggested, by Mikestone 8, in https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/missouri-becomes-a-free-state.240632/#post-5975502, the Northwest Ordinance had been extended to the Louisiana Territory, in theory, outlawing slavery in Arkansas and Missouri?
Arkansas probably would have legalized slavery but Missouri very likely wouldn't have.
With Missouri as a free state, how would the history of slavery develop in the USA?
With no Bleeding Kansas, would there still have been an American Civil War?
