The Nomonhan Campaign Poland attacks the Soviets

Poland and Japan had an unoffical Alliance with each other because of The Soviet Union . But in the mid 1930's they made it offical .
What if the Polish Army had Mobalized it forces in May of 1939 and Attacked the Soviet Union as an open Allie of Japan .

How would the World of Reacted to this War that Poland lauched Against the Soviet and how would the Soviet people looked on the Polish Army if the Came as Liberaters .

How would the large Polish pop of the US reacte to this War .

Would Romany Join Poland in this War ? rember they were pre war allies .

Poland loses all credibility by allying with Japan, which was deeply unpopular by now.
Subsequently, Poland falls on top of the prepared fortifications of the Soviet Union. And loses badly. And Germany invades Poland not too long after this dumb, dumb move.
The Polish 'liberators'? Would they get anywhere? I think not. And Romania would just be helping the USSR even more.

CW why would the not be seen as 'liberators' after what Stalin Did to the Ukraine Farmers ?
Not everyone saw the USSR as a People friendly place at that time.

But the Poles would not get far enough to 'liberate' at all. See, the Finnish. Despite defeating the Red Army, massive uprisings did not come...

Well if this is the same Nomohan incident, Zhukov will have a bloody but successful campaign through Manchuria, while Poland is pretty doomed. The Red Army of 1920 was an overstretched, undertrained mass who still got the gates of Warsaw. By 1939, forgetting the Germans who will at least press claims on Danzig and Memel, even a purged Red Army will need another 'miracle' to be defeated.

And yes, Poland allying with Japan wont do them any favours with the West, it might just be the excuse Britain & France need to drop Warsaw completely

Well, this would isolate Poland from any assistance from the UK and France for one.

The Soviets will crush Poland, and Hilter will probably try and grab Danzig, Memel and maybe some of western Poland.

It's quite possible Hilter could use Soviet expansion into Poland as an excuse to go to war. Britain and France aren't going to interfere so basiclly the USSR could end up fighting a two-fronted war against Japan and Germany. Finland might yet jump in even without a Winter War just to get Karellia.

It'd be hard for the Soviet Army which just got done purging a not-so-small chunk of it's officer corps, to fight a large scale war in 1939.

Red Army, even with Japanese looking for new chances to get themselves a new one, would rip Poles apart as fast as Germans did IOTL. And "Polish liberators of Ukrainian farmers" sounds almost as good as "British liberators of Irish farmers". Look, if there was a creature more hated by Ukrainian nationalists than "Muscovite Commie" it would be "Lech".

so then, in this scenario... could germany potentially come to USSR's "aid", invade Poland from the West, and not get a DOW from the Allies? and imagine how these butterflies would affect the rest of the war

There are pretty slim chances of that. Poland's alliance of 1939 with both France and Great Britain was aimed against Germany specifically. AFAIR Franco-Polish declaration did not even mention Soviet invasion as a reason to activate military co-operation. Pact with GB used more general language to effect "if either country was attacked by other European country" so, at stretch, Britons could cop out by labelling Poland as an aggressor. However, I doubt this would actually happen if Germany would enter the fray before Poland collapses.

On the flip side, with Poland attacking USSR 1st, we could see OTL Autumn 1939 in reverse. Soviets would stop Polish advance and counter-attack. Poland would likely collapse even faster than it did IOTL (there's no "Roman Bridgehead" dream to strengthen Polish will to fight) and, once the government ceases to exist, Germany enters to pick up bits and pieces. In ths case Germany can, with very good politic maneuvers, avoid being DoWed by GB and France.

Poland gets into difficulties, Germany comes to her aid leading an anti-Soviet crusade that pulls in other European nations as the final titanic clash they had been long-anticipated finally comes to be

Japan is getting trounced and nobody much cares, except the Japanese who end up fighting a nasty and increasingly difficult war of defence, hoping for the Western Allies (Poland, Nazi Germany and friends) to win through

lol.. so this is what happens when you elect the "Vodka Party" to office. That darn Drunky Mc Drunk-Drunk-ski as premier!

Seriously though, the Poles were in the middle of a rebuilding period in 1939 and expected to be finished no earlier than 1941. They were in no position to attack anyone. Their close ties to the Japanese would probably have to be predicated on some massive influx of arms and technology. Poles flying Zeroes would be amusing and likely ASB.

And werent the Japanese tied up with a little country called "China"? Why would they want to open up the "Arctic Front" when there's all that useful stuff to the south and east of them?

I just don't see the advantage of anything more than a defensive alliance to either partner. Then again, I'm not Premier Drunky! You silly Premier! No second front with Germany!!
