America never invaded Iraq. Saddam's increasingly autarkic policies and attempts to embargo "hostile" states would led to an even worse economic situation in the non-oil rich Arab countries, leading to the *Arab Spring starting one year earlier than OTL. The ensuing Iraqi Civil War would be far more brutal then the OTL Libyan one, with casualty estimates reaching into the 200,000s. On the plus side, Gadaffi was swiftly overthrown by the Libyan military, fearing Iraq-like chaos.
