The New Order: Last Days of Europe Thread II

Columbia leak. Yet another civil war added into TNO.
The developers TNO will add civil wars to all countries except the USA.

It is a pity that the Los Leopardos movement or its newer counterpart is not represented in any way.
Сould also add Burgundian drug dealers, especially in our timeline Klaus Barbie (SS member, butcher of Lyon) worked with Colombian drug dealers.

So, do you have headcanons about the fate of the Reich?

I am torn between two choices - Bormann wins the civil war, and in december1971 he is overthrown by Baldur von Schirach, who becomes the new Fuhrer.
The second option - Speer wins the civil war, carries out the necessary reforms, and then follows the path of a complete reformed National Socialism, getting rid of GO4.

In both cases, Hitler, out of friendship, appoints Speer as his successor. And the civil war ends in january 1965.

I'm fond of Panzers original vision for it.
But i have to say that a full G4 reformation combined with destroying Russia in 2WRW holds a lot of potential for both europe and even humanity in the broadest sense.

Heydrich's Germany collapses and the OFN establishes a pro US Central European Union in it's place

For me, I'm actually interested in what other peoples headcannons are for the more newer tags that have recently got content like Paraguay, Phillipines and even who unifies Moskowien before the Germans come back. Would anyone like to weigh in on that?

Permanent partition of Paraguay.
Successful Japanese invasion of the Philippine's followed by effective and monstrous colonization under the new reformist PM group.
Gorby being forced to either endure building a Moskovian identity separate from Russia if Russia goes really bad or successfully navigating the Speer collaboration politics in the reformed Nazism path.

I'm starting an SBA run. I tried this once when Toolbox Theory came out, but I ended up with an out-of-control debt situation. How do I manage my economy as SBA (or any Russian warlord)? There don't seem to be many ways to bring in new money. Do I just not take the options to spend money?

TBH I have mixed opinions.

For one thing, Atlantropa is arguably one of the most iconic aesthetics of TNO, given how the submod was one of the only few to feature a Hoi4 base map with adjusted landmass features. Now looking at that map of Europe makes it harder to distinguish the mod from TWR.

I also think it makes Red Italy appearing without at least fighting a civil war against Fash Italy first much harder to take seriously. At least for me, I always had it in my head that the enduring devastating impact wreaked on the Italian economy by Atlantropa (especially the inhabited coastal areas like Venice that would be eviscerated by the desertification) is what rationalized the Socialist revolutionaries having any conceivable chance to seize control in one fell swoop.

I think that they should change the lore to have a failed Atlantropa project, perhaps with the dam being incomplete when the German economy crashed. After all, simply the prospect of Atlantropa would have massive financial impacts on the Mediterranean. Maybe the incomplete dam is now a navigation obstacle, and Iberia is working on dismantling it (possibly with some attempt to repurpose it, like using the underwater portion as the basis for an undersea tunnel between Iberia and Morocco).

Good news. Atlantropa, unlike the Congo Sea, is physically impossible.

In the 50s of the 20th century, there simply was not so much cement and building materials for a dam 15 km wide. It really was "Nazi super-science".

Yeah, a lot of the lore of the Mediterranean nations is bound up with the Dam, now it will all have to be reworked.
That's part of why the Dam was being removed, cause making lore for those nations with the Dam was like trying to move with a giant millstone on your neck.

While this might be in poor taste, I just have to say it: TNO seems to be undergoing a process of 'de-panzerization' in terms of its lore.

Not saying that it is a bad thing (I am certainly not against the idea of removing Atlantropa, as it is one of those 'first impression' things that really prevent me from introducing TNO to other people and have them take the setting serious). But as someone who have created his own TLs on this site and have a high degree of protectiveness over my own vision of the lore and setting, even if I realized some of the mistakes that I have made later on, I do understand why Panzer, whenever he occasionally shows up on the TNO subreddit with his iconically sarcastic single line comments, seems to be so bitter and irritable over all the changes to the TNO setting since he had left. In a 'seeing your own work outgrown its creator' kind of way. Especially when he has been used almost as a strawman for everyone to pin all the aspects of TNO they did not enjoy onto him ever since he left.

Still, similar to all the talks about the South African War being reworked to make it less of a Vietnam War analogy (Yes, yes, I know that it was also an analogy of Korea and Iraq as well... But you cannot have a proxy conflict with anti-war protests, draft dodging, and Operation Rolling Thunder, and tell me that Vietnam was not the primary influence), and make the situation in Russia less of an anarchy in which no one on the outside world knows what is going on, and more of a chaotic warlord period instead, I am 100% in support of the dev and their decision on this.
