The mother of all maps...

OK, well seeing as my previous posting about updating my website seems to have disappeared slightly without a trace, I thought I'd try a different method of getting people's attention. I thought to myself, what appeals to the people of this board? The answer suddenly came to me- maps, and lots of them!

I haven't got lots of maps in this post, but I do have a bloody big one- it's a map of the world of 1950, as seen in the "A Shot Heard Around the World" TL. A preview's down below and if you go to http://snipurl.com/cr38 you get to see it in all it's .6mb 2 metre-square glory!

Oh yeah, and the TL which it came from can be found with several other things at http://www.quarryhouse.free-online.co.uk/ed/Althist.htm . Enjoy...

ComradeFlyer - If you'd like me to make a map, PM me. Don't worry abt payment or anything though, I do it because I enjoy it- and as a bored student I need something to fill all the time not spent drinking and writing irritating essays :)

Unsung Hero - I got the map from a .pdf file at http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/world.html . It's a brilliant resource for maps of all sorts actually, definately worth bookmarking.

glad to see university life is the same across the pond, i just have no real patience to make a map, but i really would like to get something done along the lines of the one you did. its amazing. i'll PM you sometime and we'll see if you can help me out, thanks.

I clicked the first link and the resulting map is too small. The second link contains the TL (a very nice one, by the way), but no maps.
