What if FDR dies in late 1944, rather than in 1945?
Hitler was said to have dreamed about the possibility of FDR dieing during the Battle of Berlin, precipitating a crisis amongst the Allies as Stalin and Churchill fell out. Of course, FDR actually did die during the Battle of Berlin and it ultimately had no effect, as Berlin was still captured and the Nazi regime brought to an end.
But what if FDR dies much earlier, in the winter of 1944? Importantly, this is before Yalta and the 1944 Presidential election, so it won't be Truman inheriting but rather Wallace.
How will things change? Will Wallace run in the '44 election? How will the post-war settlement work itself out?
