The Marcos Failure of 1986: The Soviet Invasion of Philippines

Sorry, I don't manage to conceive why Gorbaciov should invade Philippines only because Marcos retained power and causing WWIII without even attempting a negotiation with the US. It's not that the USSR would lost something if the status quo in the Philippines endured - in truth, he could have a great PR boost denouncing the rigging of the elections and implicitely the US which supported it.

But, I am not entirely hostile to this TL. With some additional explainations about the progression of the escalation it could work better.
 
If by "accomodating" you mean "not explaining why they need better ideas", then no thanks.
I just wanted to show my support to Namayan's comment. Others have already pointed out why the OP is going to be terribly hard. It simply is my opinion that there's no need to go quite brusque about it, particularly to a newcomer.
 
What would happen is complete laughter because the Soviets never had enough power to orchestrate a major invasion that wasn't overland aside from the very end of World War Two against northern Japan perhaps.
