Mary of Burgundy was probably the most sought after heiress in late 15th century Europe, for her dowry would include the lands of the Burgundy, the wealthy lowlands and pieces of France, and IOTL she received suitors for her hand, including Maximilian of Austria, and the King of France, who wanted to marry her off to his son and heir, to reattach the Burgundian lands to the Crown of France.
Who are some other suitors who could successfully take the hand of the Burgundian heiress, and what immediate effects might that have on the politics and political scope of late 15th century Europe, were the Burgundian lowlands not to end up in the hands of the Habsburgs or France?
Let's also assume, that as in OTL, France will still seize parts of Burgundy that it believed followed the laws of Lex Salica--Picardie, Artois, and Bourgogne, this leaves any Burgundian state with Mary and her consort with the Lowlands and Franche-Comte.
Edit: Crap. I meant to put this in Before 1900. Can I get this moved to the correct forum?
