The League of Three Emperors and ATL WWI

Drawing upon my earlier thread on a similar topic, I've created an ATL WWI involving a different set of factions. In this TL, the League of Three Emperors stays together, so Austria-Hungary, Russia, and Germany are allies.

This is my ideas about how a WWI would start, feel free to comment and further develop ideas.

France is poised against the League and is its most obvious enemy, while the UK is involved in an arms race with the Germans. Italy feels threatened by perceived A-H machinations on its territory and thus is growing closer to the English, while the control of the Black Sea is a powder keg between the Russians and the Ottomans.

As this WWI would most likely not start over Serbia, how do members feel the best way for it to begin would be? Personally, I'm partial to the Ottomans and Russians going to war first, but I'm open to other ideas.

How do people think such a war would progress?

I think it's worth explaining just how the Emperors' league survive. While Germano-Russian differents were resolvable - agricultural and polish questions for the most part - Austro-Russian competition for Balkanic domination was much more complex, and Berlin's decision to support Vienna led to the failure of Bismark's league. I'm just not sure how it could be possible for Germany to play a balancing act between both forever without creating openings for France to try and break up the alliance. Russia simply has many incentives to side against the central powers, and the more stable and prosperous she becomes, the more this logic will predominate.

After all, allying with your large, rich, influencial, land-based, immediate neighbors is a great defensive strategy, but it's pretty piss-poor if you want to expand your influence and rule over rich, contigious lands.

Of course if it does happen - if the League is preserved, perhaps through stronger influence of personal relations between the monarchs over the affairs of their governments, or an alternate Tsar with different priorities, or even a less Balkan-centric Austria - well, Germany is not going to lose a war if her only continental foe worth a damn is France, I think that's pretty much a given. The context of WW1 wouldn't allow for a WW2-style war led from London after the fall of France, either. It probably means a German victory.

To say it mildly the The League of Three Emperors crush any opposition, I can't see a alliance which can beat them, including one which includes USA.

How about France-Britain and Japan against Russia-Germany and Austria?

Of course, France would be destroyed within a year...Japan within a year and a half and the British empire defeated in the long term...

Would Italy or the ottomans join in the war? They would probably lose quickly, but they would lengthen the war. Also what other countries would join the war on either side?
