So the KKK and Black Pamthers don't have much attention on the site. I've always been interested in gang wars, and I propose a war between the Black Panthers, and Ku Klux Klan. Is this possible? And who would win such a gang war?

First, the Black Panther Party was not a street gang at its inception. They did not peddle drugs, guns, or sex at their start. The Panthers were a self-determination, self-reliance black nationalist group at its core. They didn’t really turn into gangs and all that whatnot until the 70s. The Ku Klux Klan was not simply a gang, but a terror organization. They were two distinct entities, with two dichotomous missions. One was about uplifting the black community, and the other was about scaring the black community in the South into continued subservience.

They likely wouldn’t come to blows unless the Panthers decided to pack up and move to the Deep South, or if the Klan decided to show up in the inner cities.

Now what you could have happen is offshoots of the BPP showing up in Southern states, and going after Klan-affiliated sheriffs and politicians. You could similarly have fire bombings of BPP offices, and possibly shootouts, but nothing to the effect of gangland-style shootouts.

Sorry, if I wasn't specifying, I'm not saying their gangs, but like members would fight each other in the streets, and there would be street fights, against members of both parties. Like a Black Crusade, where Black Panthers gather people for crusades against Klan supporters or something.

Not the Black Panthers, but the Greensboro massacre involved the Klan (plus American Nazi Party) against a Maoist group (in this case advocating for the rights of mostly black workers) protesting them, and several people died.

or if the Klan decided to show up in the inner cities.

Yeah, I think you'd need the KKK to have a much heavier urban presence, for this to work. As it is, I think a more likely scenario would be to have some urban-based vigilante groups with a white-power ideology(eg. a racist version of the Guardian Angels, or maybe the Jewish Defense League) take on the Panthers.

The Black Panthers were a political party founded in 1966 and disbanded in 1982. To understand the Ku Klux Klan, one must consider the history of the name. It came from college students in 1865. As students studied Greek, they derived it from a word for circle. Their prime cause was to opposed carpetbaggers from the North, but by the end of 1865, the name was adopted by disorganized groups who wanted to terrorize the ex-slaves. Violence became severe enough that Congress passed the "Klan Act" to authorize troops to quell the violence. The violence would become less organized and the name went into remission until it was adopted by a fraternal order in 1915. For a few years, the KKK was a fraternal order for protestant white men, to advance their cause not only against blacks, but Jewish and Catholic immigrants from Ireland, Poland, Italy and Russia. It had the support of President Woodrow Wilson. It suddenly lost membership in 1925 and KKK took on its "terrorist" again. The fraternal order went bankrupt in 1944 but local chapters remained, to regain popularity in response to the civil rights movement in the sixties.
