The King of Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Lakers had to make a decision between Sidney Moncrief and Earvin “Magic” Johnson. The Lakers decided on Moncrief because they thought that Magic was to “flashy”. Magic Johnson would be drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the second pick. Magic Johnson refused to sign with the Bulls and told them that they should trade him to the Detroit Pistons. The Bulls traded Johnson to Detroit for the #4 pick, the #10 pick, and the #15 pick.

Seriously, as a lifelong Bucks fan you're taking Moncrief away from me? Why dont you just have them trade Marquis Johnson and fire Don Nelson for George Karl while you're at it? I've had enough pain in my life. I need some Bucks love!

After Moncrief and Magic, that's a pretty anemic bunch. Only Cartwright and the "Microwave" were decent NBA level players.

I'll echo Dunning Kruger's assessment for the Bucks. From Moncrief to Kelser, is a cruel twist of AH fate.

Jim Paxton was a 20ppg scorer early in his career. Calvin Natt and Cliff Robinson were legit starters too. Robinson would have complemented Lanier actually.

El Sid has a special place in my heart. Robin Yount, Paul moliter, James lofton, and Sidney moncrief were my heroes growing up in the 1980's.

After drafting Sidney Moncrief the Lakers had a problem. Should they trade Adrian Dantley? They finally decided no, because both of their guards were more defense oriented and Jamaal Wilkes could play power forward.

Lakers fans were ready for their first game of the season. They had Adrian Dantley, Jamaal Wilkes, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Sidney Moncrief, and Norm Nixon. Their first game would be against the San Diego Clippers. They would beat the Clippers 113-102 in San Diego. Sidney Moncrief would score 8 points in his first game.
