There used to be this site called stampworldhistory.com, while it focused on stamps, it featured maps of the areas of the stamps that were fairly detailed; especially the African colonies. I saved these maps and a few months later the site shut down.
So naturally, having used these maps dozens of times, I felt it was wrong for only me to have access to them and posted the on my Deviantart. This got me thinking that I have many maps similar to this that could be potentially helpful or interesting to other map makers.
After deciding to post these, I realized I didn't want to flood the historic map thread or my deviantart with these, so I've decided to post these maps here in this thread. To avoid always bumping this thread, I'll only update it once a day with a varying amount of maps [usually 2-5].
[Also I lack a lot of information on the context of some of these maps, so if I violate anything, let me know and I'll take it down; additionally, I have over 1000 maps from the David Rumsey Map Collection I would e willing to post, but could use clarification of the copyrights of those maps]
With all that out of the way, let's get started with the Joy of Mapping!
French Indochina ~1888, showing the border with Laos under Siamese control.
Argentina as of 1862, with appropriate territories and states as well as various 19th century border disputes.
Armenia and various claims and border disputes.
Same as above but with Azerbaijan
Same as previous two but with Georgia.
