I was just reading "The Italian Women" by Plaidy and it got me thinking.
If Catherine de' Medici died during the reign of her son King Francis II how would the future of France pan out.
Francis II would still, probs, die leaving his widow (Mary, Queen of Scotland) however when Charles came to the throne there wouldn't be the dominant personaliy of his mother behind it.
Can we think who would?
The Guise's still? The Bourbons? Or somebody else?
Also how would this effect the cause of the Huguenot?
