The Great Galveston Hurricane never strikes.

What would Galveston, Texas have looked like in 1901 and beyond had the Great Galveston Hurricane never struck the city?

Oh, one of my pet PODs! Well, unfortunately, the oil fields, combined with the shipping channel, will probaly still mean Houston overtakes Galveston regardless, but the lack of a hurricane will have a, well, hurricane's worth of butterflies.

Houston may become the oil and industrial capital of Texas the Galveston will be the financial center. The big reasons Galveston had a head start with building a financial sector and Galveston has better beaches.
