The fate of 7-11 had 9-11 occured 2 monthes eariler

Well the basic mention of those two numbers will invoke a lot of emotions and opinions for Americans and those overseas. Due to this event a lot of words such as jihad become commonplace in the English language practically overnight. I'm more curious about the effects of the whole War-on Terror linguistics/rhetoric but I'd figure I'd might as well post an example to start. So what would the impact on something (say 7-11) were it to be unfortunately associated with such an event?

They event might just be labeled July 11th, instead of the numerals.

True, true. but I'm more concerned with the linguistics anyways. For example what used to be rebels, militias, and insurgents were all grouped together under the label AQ-linked , muslim terms and image had taken a nose-dive, what used to be civil disorder became sectarian violence.

Just be grateful it didn't happen on 6th of September. Not only would America be facing a war on terror, but a war on sex as well.

Off course this could just be some silly brainfart from my dirty old mind, but imagine the horror!

Emergency phone number nine-one-one was not "impacted" or changed after 9/11. Likewise, 7/11 may be less effected than you think. Though I expect there to be a lot of bad jokes linking 7/11 stores, their stereotypical employees and July 11th attacks on the internet and cartoons like Family Guy.

The term sectarian violence existed long before 9-11; I've heard it used for as long as I can remember to describe the violence in Ireland.

One thing I've often wondered is why exactly they chose the date September 11th. Was there any particular significance to that date or was is just random? In an ATL could it have happened on a different date?

I think it was a combination of workday and ability to hijack planes flying withing such parameters, that is taking off around that time from that airport, begining long flights so they were full of fuel.

Writing the date that way is not universal. For one it's MM/DD/YY, which not everybody uses. For other it uses solar, Gregorian calendar while hijackers used different one, making their date something else. Unless they were going for impact in US though I don't know why should they.
