The Fascist International

Social Darwinist Corporatists? The two ideologies are diametrically opposed to each other.

My list was a shopping list of potential ideologies. Not every item might be included. (for example I said both paganism and clericalism)

That said, I don't see it possible for a movement to have some internal contradictions and paper over them.... that happens on all sides of the political spectrum.

I'd like to start off by noting that Fascism does not automatically equal racism, are their Fascist groups that are racist, yes, yes their are, but Racism is'nt a defining aspect of Fascism overall.

Anyways, I'd say the best way to do this would to go back a little earlier to the early 20's when Fascism was more in what might be called its formative stages. Rather than having Fascism being based the supreme authority of a nation have it be more Technocratic (as in the movement, not system) in that it seeks to create a single, unified global system, now what would be interesting with this is how Fascism might change, OTL Fascism supports the state being the ultimate authority and holder of power, however if you change it slightly you could have it as the state being the ultimate decider and essentially you'd end up with a more Socialistic (rather than Corporatist) Fascism that may (or not) focus more on people rather than the state.

What if Benito Mussilini turned out to be a modern day "Julius Caesar" in every respect, that is he actually turned out to be a genius General, he actually cared about his country, and he thought the best way to solve Italy's problems was through direct action, and he finds the Democratic system to be "Corrupt" and an obstacle to getting things done, and it was he who founded the Fascist movement with all the best of intentions. What if Benito turned out to be a likable guy with all the best of intentions and no ill will towards his neighbors, the only thing is, he wishes to reconstruct the Roman Empire with Rome as its Capital, but other than that, its "nothing personal". What kind of Fascism would that be?

Reconstructing the Roman empire requires some pretty massive conquests, and even under a leader of genius Italy isn't strong enough to go on a conquering spree. [1] If he wants to conquer more than, say, Albania, he needs allies, and the only ally he can realistically look to is Hitler. And we already know how _that_ goes.

[1] It's hard to see a French-Italian war, for instance, that doesn't bring in the UK was well.

Honestly, I don't think we'd actually have called him Fascist if that were the case, we'd probably have come up with some new term.

That would be Italian Fascism, which would be different from German Fascism - aka Nazism. If he calls himself a Fascist than he is a Fascist, but you've got to remember that the concept of Fascism is different in the 1920s than in the 2000s. Look at the varying differences within Communism.

In practice that sort of regime requires a scapegoat to direct hatred against to consolidate support. In Germany it was the jews. Fascism also uses mythology of blood and racial characteristics
