After The Dawn age, only 2 great states remained. Pht'o'kmt, commonly referred to as Komat'i, in the lands now inhabited by the Mikhmar people, and a Manderman civilization whose name has been lost to time.

Pht'o'kmt'i were a backward people, committing savageries in the name of their dark god, Nax'uhal. This far back in history things get clouded, but tales passed on from the remaining Pht'o'kmt'i are disturbing. One tale states, "The God on Earth, Hun'opht, had 300 wives. He would cut off their limbs, and keep them in a great hall by themselves. He was hated, and for this hatred, he killed everyone who dared stop him. One day, when The God Above heard of this atrocity, he came down onto earth to battle him. The battle shook the world and flooded the great city. When the battle was over, The God Above decreed that he would never allow a god to exist on earth again."

For the Mandermen civilization that once existed in the Tresyn Sea, not much is known.

I. THE MANDERMEN

The Manderman somehow migrated to Eridan, though the method how is currently unknown. Perhaps they used boats, but current Mandermen have never used a boat, and get seasick easily. Perhaps there was a land bridge, but this is not known either. 2 great states were established after this mysterious migration, though. They were AKHUNAKAN, and NERATONO. AKHUNAKAN was a relatively civilized civilization for the Mandermen. The had Kings, Queens, vassals, and the sort. They existed in what is now the Jeweled Straight. NERATONO was different, savage and barbaric for even Mandermen. They worshipped dark gods, who's names have been lost to time, perhaps for the better.

II. KHOMATS

The Khomats established another civilization, along with the ruined empire of the Pht'o'kmt. Its name was Azcet, and in its prime was great. Legends say that towers built stretched all the way to the sky, far past the clouds. Legends of its downfall are much more common. Scholar Alynon claimed in his translation of the Khoma Tuma, "One day, men got too over-confident with themselves. They wanted to build a tower to MISSING and reach MISSING. Eventually, God herself cast down the men and made them start MISSING." The remains are fragmentary at best, so the validity of this is not great.

III. YIN

The Yin are an eastern type people, who started out as peaceful sheep herders until the great wise Dragon known as LAO MEI came to them and taught them how to build and rule, if legends are to be believed. Most Scholars simply believe LAO MEI was a man, who taught a powerful chieftain. Whatever the case, the Yin started to become a powerful force in all the known world, soon surpassing even the old empire of Pht'o'kmt. GAE MAI, the first Astrological Empire, was said to have lived over 2,000 years. At the end of his life, legends say, he was shorter than a mouse and as frail as dry grass.

THE BURNING OF DENTHIR:

PART OF THE BLACK WARS

The Burning of Denthir was the end of the black wars. Denthir was located on the southern shore of the Restless Sea.

On the edge of a pennisula, it provided a very defensive position for the Venma, during the black wars.

It prided itself on never being conquered, lasting, according to the ruling Cernas's, 3,000 years. King Tommas IV, "the irrefutable," called the Kingdom of the Northmarches to finally take, according to the king, "The thrice-damned castle, standing as proudly as a whore on a balcony."

The 4th Black War, (the black wars named for the atrocities committed,) was the last and final one. Paramount Lord, Lord Cerras Nightbringer, ruler of the Northmarches, declared war on the remaining Venma people.

According to some, from both sides of the war, any Venma male found was put to the sword, their cities and towns looted and burned. Proud Denfur Cernas, the king of Denthir, marched his whole army to meet what his scouts said was a small army, 900 strong. He was wrong. 6,000 Northmarcher man poured out of the trees, completely surrounding the Denthirans. Legends say, knowing defeat was inevitable, most of the men fell on their sword, knowing from the rare survivors of Cerras's wrath that they would die anyways. All 900 men died that day, those who didn't fall on their sword, were put to someone else's.

After the Battle of the Mourning, as some call it, 6,000 men marched to a rather empty castle. What happened there, the gods surely hated. Everyone, man, woman, and child, was slain. Every house, burned, every wall, broken down, every tree, uprooted. The city was dying ith the sounds of crackling flame, rape, and destruction.

What was left wasn't a city, rather a reminder of man's cruelness. Hearing of the slaughter at Denthir, King Tommas personally went to Cerras, and demanded him arrested. He refused at first, but when Tommas's 500 strong elite guard showed, Cerras delivered himself.
